Dawanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor with extensive experience working with women and teens, especially in the area of trauma and abuse. She is passionate about helping women who have experienced a traumatic or painful event heal from that experience to live a fulfilling and thriving life. She also enjoys working with families and couples, helping them to build the tools to have positive and loving relationships.

Dawanda enjoys working with clients who are motivated to work towards internal transformation to live a happy and full life. Therapy is a process of healing and change, and she believes it is her job to help you feel a sense of safety in sessions to explore the change process.

Dawanda’s therapeutic orientation includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. She also uses elements from Adlerian therapy and Reality therapy, and shifts her approach based on each client’s specific needs.

Dawanda can accept clients with the following insurance plans: BCBS PPO, Optum/UBH, & Aetna. Dawanda can also accept all self-pay clients.

Counseling Works is here to support our communities through this time – We are currently accepting new clients, and for your safety and ours, we’re adjusting our scheduling to offer online therapy sessions to ensure we provide continuous service and support in the healthiest setting.
