Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who practices from a holistic mental health viewpoint that incorporates mindfulness and bodywork with traditional therapy. She specializes in working with women, particularly those dealing with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, sleep difficulties, chronic pain, complex trauma, or PTSD, as well as working with children and adolescents. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, and Advanced Adolescent and Child Trauma Professional.
Jennifer began her career as a school social worker and learned to incorporate movement, breathwork, and mindfulness into her work with students. Inspired by the results, she studied yoga, Ayurveda, Reiki, nutrition, massage, and reflexology to deepen her understanding of the body-mind connection and all the ways the body holds and releases stress. As she pursued more advanced study, she discovered the growing body of research supporting yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness as evidence-based therapeutic interventions. These developments, as well as the expanding fields of Somatic and Energy Psychology, have inspired Jennifer to integrate these approaches (when appropriate) into her work with therapy clients.
Jennifer’s post-degree studies have included the work of renowned trauma experts Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk and Dr. Peter Levine, Trauma Sensitive Yoga creator and therapist David Emerson, and play therapist Dr. Jennifer Lefebre. In addition, she completed Art Therapy coursework at the Adler School of Professional Psychology, recognizing the value of non-verbal expression to enhance clients’ understanding and release of past difficulties and present concerns.
Jennifer’s sessions seek to empower clients through every phase of treatment. She acknowledges each client’s unique strengths, interests, needs, and priorities, as well as the power of the therapeutic relationship. Each client is recognized as a warrior, invested in restoring their own health, vitality, and happiness.
Jennifer can only accept Medicare and self-pay clients.
