Kelly is a fully licensed social worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of experience. A seasoned and skilled clinician, she provides therapy to children ages 6 through 18, as they go through life changes, or experience adjustment difficulties in school, with friends, or within their families. An area of expertise is working with clients who have experienced trauma or witnessed domestic violence or abuse. Kelly also treats children experiencing anxiety, divorce, break-ups, relationship loss, life changes, self-esteem and self-worth issues, as well as trauma/PTSD. She works with individuals, as well as siblings and families.
Kelly excels at making therapy enjoyable, and creating a space for children to feel safe and secure. She uses an array of techniques such as games, books, art and plays in order to best serve the needs of the client. Sessions are routine-oriented and structured, while engaging and fun at the same time. She also collaborates with the caregiver as well, providing psychoeducation pertaining to the needs of each client. The goal at the end of a session is to finish on a positive note, and have clients looking forward to their next session. Ultimately, clients will gain a better sense of emotional health and intelligence after a session with Kelly.
Through the use of several modalities to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths-Based, Trauma-Focused CBT, Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework, she is able to provide customized treatment for each client.
