Have you ever felt like you had a lot to express, but just couldn’t find the right words? Art therapy may be just the things you need. Lindsay Hathaway is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist. She also works as an adjunct professor at Adler University, providing instruction in Research Methods, Lifestyle and Career Counseling, Trauma and Grief as well as Couples and Family. In addition to traditional talk therapy, she uses art interventions to support her clients in exploring and processing their emotions in a way that words cannot always express. She is able to tailor sessions to each client, creating a unique therapeutic experience specific to their goals. She uses an integrative approach to treatment and often utilizes techniques from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.
Individuals who are open to exploring their emotions, and gaining insight into themselves through the use of art and creative expression would be a great fit for Lindsay. To Lindsay, therapy is a collaborative relationship in which she accompanies clients on their journey, and helps provide pieces to their roadmap of life. She believes that although therapy can be challenging at times, there is invaluable growth and insight to be gained.
Lindsay sees clients of all ages, including those with OCD, and would love to work with you today! She is currently available to new clients at our Frankfort and Lemont locations.
