As winter approaches, and days grow darker, Shorewood HUGS shines a light on individuals and families facing hardships, bringing comfort and connection to the community.
The Hugs & Wishes Program supports people within a 20-mile radius of Shorewood, IL who are experiencing illness, disability, or other challenges. Since its founding in 2008 by five friends, Shorewood HUGS has grown to 50+ members, fulfilled 1,300+ wishes, and contributed over $1 million to support those in need.
Whether granting a special experience or helping with essential needs, the organization’s mission remains the same: to make a positive impact, one hug at a time.
During the winter season, their work reminds the community how compassion and care can bring warmth and hope.
