Location: Lemont, Naperville

Life Changes / Adjustments, Perinatal / Maternal Mental Health, Trauma / PTSD

Amanda DeBoy, LPC, PMH-C, CADC, CTP provides individual therapy for young adults and adults in our Naperville and Lemont offices. She helps clients navigating life changes, perinatal and maternal mental health, and trauma, offering support that feels grounded, collaborative, and real. Amanda also works with those facing stress, grief and loss, mood disorders, and self-esteem challenges. She holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University and holds certifications as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC), and Certified Trauma Professional (CTP).

Before joining private practice, Amanda gained valuable experience working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs (PHP/IOP), where she honed her skills in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and mindfulness-based therapy. These tools help clients notice unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotional overwhelm, and build practical coping strategies. Her approach is trauma-informed and client-centered—meaning you set the pace, and together you discover what truly helps you heal and grow.

Amanda has a deep understanding of how life’s major transitions can stir both excitement and uncertainty. She provides a calm and affirming presence for clients adjusting to new roles, whether becoming a parent, starting college, or rebuilding after loss. As a former full-spectrum doula, Amanda brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and compassionate insight to her work with parents. She helps clients navigate the complex emotions of the perinatal and postpartum periods—joy, fear, grief, and transformation—offering support that helps them feel seen, grounded, and understood. Reflecting on this work, she says, “The gap in resources for new parents during such a vulnerable time inspired me to become a therapist, so I could offer a safe, affirming space for individuals to process, heal, and grow.”

Outside of the therapy room, Amanda finds joy in painting, yoga, gardening, and learning to play guitar. She shares her home with two lovable dogs who remind her daily of the power of presence and a good cuddle.
