Abigail Wolfe, Counseling Associate, knows how much weight it can feel like to carry past experiences that still affect your present. She works with clients in Naperville experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety and panic, and depression—helping people who feel weighed down by racing thoughts, memories they can’t shake, or the exhaustion that comes with just getting through the day. She also provides support for eating disorders, sexual difficulties, sports psychology, and women’s issues. Abigail earned her Bachelor’s degree in Community Health from Indiana University and is completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School. She offers individual therapy, couples counseling, and group therapy sessions for children, adolescents, teens, young adults, and adults.
As a trauma-informed therapist in Naperville, Abigail draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices to help clients find relief and build skills that feel manageable. Her style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, meeting clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels right for them.
When working with clients experiencing trauma, Abigail focuses on creating a safe space “where you don’t have to go through it alone.” Her goal is to help clients feel grounded, rebuild trust in themselves, and move toward a life where they feel more in control and at peace. For anxiety, she works to slow down the racing thoughts, understand what’s underneath the worry, and build a “toolbox” filled with methods to provide relief. With depression counseling, she creates a space where clients feel understood and supported without judgment, working step by step to build back hope, energy, and connection. What led Abigail to this work is her deep belief that “healing happens in connection.” She’s drawn to people’s stories—the messy, complicated, real parts of life—and wants every client to know, “This is their space,” a place where they don’t have to be perfect or have everything figured out.
Outside of sessions, Abigail has a dog named Bonni, loves folk and alternative music, and enjoys getting outside to reconnect with nature. If she could switch careers for a day? She’d want to be an F1 driver!
