Heather is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC). She has extensive experience working with addictions as well as people with severe mental illness. Heather is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families dealing with substance abuse. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, codependency, depression, and stress management.
Heather recognizes that every person’s journey is unique and shaped by life experiences that are frequently outside of an individual’s control. She also believes that a person’s past and present relationships and experiences directly correlate with the way a person thinks, acts, or feels and works to understand and treat the person as a whole. Heather believes that the ultimate goal of therapy is to help clients build confidence in their abilities to make decisions that help build meaningful and productive lives.
Heather uses a warm and engaging approach to build rapport and a strong therapeutic relationship with her clients. She uses an eclectic model of treatment, including a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to meet the individual needs of each client.
Heather can accept clients with the following insurance plans: BCBS PPO, Optum/UBH, & Aetna. Heather can also accept all self-pay clients.
