Krystina Bossany, LCPC, works with children, adolescents, and teens to help them manage stress, work through trauma, and adjust to major life changes such as divorce. She also supports kids and families dealing with anxiety, anger, and everyday challenges that feel overwhelming. Krystina earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University and is licensed in both Illinois (LCPC) and Indiana (LMHC). She provides individual and family therapy.
With 15 years of experience in the mental health field, including 8 years as a clinical supervisor and director, Krystina brings both expertise and adaptability into every session. She uses a variety of approaches depending on what each child or teen needs, including:
Krystina describes her style as supportive but also gently challenging when needed. She believes therapy should be a safe space where children and families feel understood, but also encouraged to grow. “I want my clients to know they are in a safe place, and I will always protect that safe space,” she shares. She often reminds clients who feel discouraged about therapy that “you might not have met the right therapist yet who understands your experiences and the way you need to learn in order to grow…never stop trying.”
Outside the therapy room, Krystina has a love for Disney (she’s been more than 10 times!) and once competed as a state champion in high school softball. Her first dog was a pitbull named Kane, and if she could switch careers for a day, she’d be a veterinarian.
