Rachel Boller, Counseling Associate

Location: Naperville

Relationship Issues, Trauma / PTSD, Women's Wellness/Issues

Body image struggles. The invisible labor of holding a relationship together. Burnout you can’t quite name. Being a woman today often means carrying weight that rarely gets acknowledged out loud – and normalizing it, rather than pretending it isn’t there, is where real change starts.

That’s the work Rachel Boller wants to do with you.

Rachel focuses on helping women navigate wellness and self-worth, trauma and PTSD, and relationship issues, with additional experience in addiction, depression, and fertility challenges. She works with individuals, couples, families, and groups across the lifespan. Rachel is completing her Master’s in Counseling at Northeastern Illinois University and holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Millikin University.

Before graduate school, Rachel spent six years as a nanny for young children – a front-row seat to major developmental milestones and to how partners navigate becoming co-parents. That vantage point, plus her own experience as a mom, shapes how she thinks about family relationships today.

She draws on Gottman Method, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Strengths-Based approaches, with close attention to the mind-body connection – the idea that what we don’t put into words tends to show up in the body instead. Her theater and dance background also draws her toward art and movement for clients who aren’t quite ready to say something out loud yet. She brings both seriousness and a healthy dose of silliness to the room.

“I like to laugh when I can,” Rachel says, “not to make jokes at a client’s expense, but to recognize and share humor, which can alleviate tension and help establish a connection.” She’s especially passionate about working with women, including survivors of sexual assault and harassment, and about pairing parent-and-child work to strengthen support at home.

Outside the therapy room, Rachel is a former Musical Theater performer who spent thirteen years in California. She’s also gearing up for a milestone of her own this fall – her daughter starting kindergarten.
