She/Her

Location: Lemont, Naperville

Life Changes / Adjustments, Perinatal / Maternal Mental Health, Trauma / PTSD

Becoming a parent is supposed to be one of life’s most joyful chapters – but for many people, it’s also one of the most disorienting. The fear no one warned you about. The grief that doesn’t make sense alongside the joy. The sense that you should be handling this better than you are. If that’s where you find yourself, you deserve support from someone who actually understands what this season of life can hold.

Before she was a therapist, Amanda Casey was a full-spectrum doula – sitting with families through pregnancy, birth, loss, and the early, fragile weeks of new parenthood. She witnessed firsthand how little support exists for parents navigating this transition, and how much that gap in care can cost. That experience didn’t just inform her work – it’s the reason she became a therapist at all. “The gap in resources for new parents during such a vulnerable time inspired me to become a therapist, so I could offer a safe, affirming space for individuals to process, heal, and grow,” Amanda shares.

Today, as an LPC with certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C), Amanda brings a rare combination: the clinical training to treat perinatal and maternal mental health, layered with the lived, firsthand insight of someone who has supported families through exactly these moments. She helps clients navigate the complicated mix of joy, fear, grief, and transformation that often comes with the perinatal and postpartum periods — offering a presence that feels grounded, collaborative, and real.

Amanda provides individual therapy for young adults and adults at the Naperville and Lemont offices, supporting clients through life transitions, trauma, stress, grief and loss, mood disorders, and self-esteem challenges. She also holds certifications as a Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC) and Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), and brings experience from partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs, where she sharpened her use of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Her approach is trauma-informed and client-centered – which means you set the pace. Together, you will discover the tools, the language, and the perspective that actually help you heal, whether you’re adjusting to new parenthood, starting a new chapter, or rebuilding after loss.

With Amanda, you don’t just get a clinician who’s studied perinatal mental health. You get someone who has sat in the room with families at their most vulnerable – and knows exactly what it takes to help them feel seen.

Outside the therapy room, Amanda finds joy in painting, yoga, gardening, and learning guitar. She shares her home with two dogs who remind her daily of the power of a good cuddle.
