As someone who has witnessed the impact of generational trauma firsthand, Amanda Zupancic, MA, brings empathy, authenticity, and presence to her work. She works with children ages 6 and up, adolescents, adults, and older adults, helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief, stress, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and religious or spiritual issues. Amanda also enjoys supporting highly sensitive people (HSPs) as they learn to understand and embrace their strengths. She holds a BA in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of St. Francis and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University.
Amanda’s experience in crisis care, psychiatric settings, and private practice allows her to support clients through a wide range of challenges. She creates a warm, calming, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and grow. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based interventions, she tailors treatment to each person’s needs and goals.
Amanda has a special passion for working with children. She believes kids are resilient, curious, and often more open to growth than they realize. To help them express themselves in safe and engaging ways, she uses creative, play-based interventions such as crafts, painting, clay, games, and other hands-on activities. She has experience working with childhood trauma and unique challenges. These approaches support emotional expression, coping skills, regulation, learning, and healing.
Whether helping someone process grief, trauma, loss, overwhelming emotions, relationship challenges, or life transitions, Amanda believes therapy should be a collaborative journey built on trust, compassion, and hope.
“I appreciate and affirm things about clients that they might have lost sight of,” Amanda says. Her strength lies in helping people recognize their resilience while offering a space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted. She aims to help clients move forward with greater confidence and self-compassion. Clients often describe Amanda as relatable, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. She knows there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and adapts her style to each person, whether they need a gentle, nurturing approach or something more direct and solution-focused.
When she’s not helping clients, Amanda enjoys walking and hiking outdoors to clear her mind and reconnect with nature. She is also an avid true crime enthusiast, enjoys art and painting, and would happily spend a day as a zookeeper surrounded by animals, which have always brought her peace and comfort.
